THE RADIOTHON

A day for doing good. A day to give back. A day to help others. A day for the less fortunate. A day for Good will. And so where do we start?

"Good afternoon everybody..these headphones are no good. As we try another one here. Hold on folks we just got to get a headset that works here..hopefully these do. (scolding a worker) Just give me the headset...thank you, there we go (Voice RAISING), JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE ME THE HEADSET PLEASE! GOD ALMIGHTY!!"

Nice job Mike. On the day that is about others, you start out in typical fashion by berating others. Memo to the show: Perhaps you guys should test the equipment, say, before the show starts...

Not to make fun of anyone's health, but we have learned that Mike Francesa is over weight and he does not work out enough..

I'm still fascinated at the (potential) Jim shot we had at the beginning of the show!

Mike is such a rude jackass. One of his workers will punch him right in the face someday. I really can't stand him. As soon as Russo starts this sunday....bye bye fatso. No more!

Can't wait for Mad Dog! He has a special show on XM this sunday at 1.

Funny stuff.

Is it Sunday at 6:00AM? I know this is a charity fundraiser, but I am sick of the medical talk. Mets and Yanks are starting home stands, can't they get Jeter, Wright or someone to make an appearance? Jets are home, isn't Favre available?

Do any active players from New York teams even come on Mike's show? Unless he's on location, all I ever hear are managers, coaches, and maybe a basketball player.

Not sure if they do, but it is charity. I'd think the Mets or Giants would make some donation on a large cardboard check and send Wright or Eli to deliver it.
But I haven't listened today. Only a couple days until Doggie.

Francesa to kid with heart problem who plays high school football:

"What kind of offense do you run?"

Mike, do you always have to try to speak in coach talk? Is it really necessary?

Well since he has a heart problem, they probably run the west coast offense. Get the ball out of his hands quickly. Mike would probably load the box with 9 men. Try to mix up the Mike(that's a blitzing linebacker, dummies.) The kid with the heart probably doesn't do a lot of check downs, because he wants to live life quickly because he could be gone tomorrow.

Good God, Man. Have you at long last no sense of decency?

I realize that today is about raising money for kids with cancer and other horrifying diseases, but Mike Francesa has some BIG PROBLEMS Too. Consider the following:

1. The Yanks will not make the playoffs.
2. The jingle is still not ready.
3. Dave Letterman called him a Fatso.
4. His headphones aren't working.

Let's just try and keep things in the proper perspective here.

I just saw Mike's opening on YES. What a jackass.

"Just give me the head set. God almighty."

Nice way to start the show.

"Be nice if we can get everything working."

You know Mike one day you're going to piss off the wrong person.

His show is doomed. Wait til Russo starts.

"When Joe Walton was coaching the Jets, we weren't taking Jets-Patriots calls," said legendary New York sports talker Chris "Mad Dog" Russo. "It wasn't Boston versus New York like Red Sox-Yankees, but when Parcells got in the mix, that's when the Jets-Patriots rivalry began in earnestness and spiraled out of control.

"It's all off-the-field stuff. It transcends the actual games."

Rock...Mike already pissed off the wrong person. He starts his new radio show on Monday.

radiothon is unlistenable.

Speaking of radio, I know i may be late to the party w/ the Russo and Stern thing but this hour or so however long it is, is the best piece of radio that i have heard in a long time. Mad Dog going to Sirius is a genius move and you found out more about Dog then ever. The type of guests that he ll be able to bring in being on Sirius will make his show so much better than Francesa. Stern even got to Russo to say Fucking thats the funniest thing i ever heard. Chris sounds like a scared student in health class who doesnt want to say and of the sexual organs in front of the class. Stroke of genius by mad dog leaving WFAN. 9/15/08 is the end Hyped Up and the beginning of a new regime in sports talk. If Mike didn't convince to me to buy Sirius already, Stern and Russo definitely just put it over the top.
