THE MIKE AND EVAN SHOW

This is a special special special day. Mike opened the show with energy that we have not seen before, but then right before our eyes we got to see a new show develop. The Mike and Evan show. A show where Mike is not the only man in the booth. Where it is not Mike's voice and no dissenting opinion. Enter Evan. Yes, he is 8 years old but he is talking back at Mike. He is saying Mike is wrong. He is making Mike back up his point. They are having a discussion. A debate. Maybe even an arguement.

For the first time in weeks, months, I am watching a radio show that I am enjoying. Whether you like Evan or not what this shows is that we need the "Mike AND ?" show. Whoever that ? is, we need him in there. We need him in there now.

Any praise for Evan went out the window when the best fiery guys he came up with was Youklis and Varitek.

Mike is taking him to school.

I gotta say I like this radio too. Evan is standing up to Mike and there is an actual conversation

Mike is totally off base. Evan needs to tell him that Wright and Reyes did not lose the season for the Mets. The problem was the bullpen. Evan screwed up by getting sidetracked on the "homegrown" question, but you would be crazy to trade Wright and Reyes, both with multiple years remaining on their contracts.

Mike and Evan sound great. This paves the way for Sid to returne to his old partner Joe B. Sid can't take the Miami Moron fans anymore.

Anon 11:08 - You're right the bullpen stinks. But for the last three years, the offense can't score when the pressure's on - and that's Francessa's point. Three years is a lot of time to prove yourself.

No one is afraid of David Wright, that's why Pinella pitched to him last Wednesday with 1st and 2nd open. Call Seattle and ask what they want for Brandon Morrow and Jeff Clement.

Before reading your latest blog entry, I just emailed a buddy that moved away from the Metro area to let him know that I think his boy, Joe B., should start looking for a new job/partner.

I like the chemistry with Mike and Evan.

re: him bashing wright... i would see his point better if he argued the same points for a-rod. i mean, whos more clutch, arod or wright? id go for the latter. 10 times out of 10 (because if wright makes an out, he still wont have arods stupid 'what just happened' look on his face).

Evan's appearance confirmed my previous hunches that he is an idiot.

On days like today, or after a Jets' loss, I wish Evan would partner with Mike and leave Benigno alone so he could rant psychotically about the Mets and not be constantly interrupted. I'd much rather listen to a passionate fan who may be on the verge of a breakdown than a pompous ass-clown like Mike.

Evan has been good for fanatic Beningo, but Evan is no match for Mike. Like 41 said, Mike took the youngster to school today. Youkilis for Wright is an absurd trade. Getting Youlikis to play first and jkeeping Wright at third makes sense, but Wright for Youkilis----no way, even though Wright has choked for three years late in the season.

Evan is 25 years old, and when he says how great the 86 Mets were, it is laughable----he was three when tney won it all. That's like me saying I remember the '73 Mets as a five year old. No chance.

Mike should get a young guy to help me out, though, a young guy who will actually watch NHL and NBA games.
