Can't Teach This Dog New Tricks

Dog just asked Michael Kay if the Mets lost today, then asked Kay "the Red Sox lost today right?"

You gotta hand it to Dog. It's not like he has an on-air program to do today. It's not like he had to dress in full WFAN uniform and report to Astoria today. No. All Dog had to do was a guest appearance on a radio show and know what happened to the Mets and Red Sox. All he had to do was come prepared. But no. Can't teach this Dog any new tricks...

Update: Kay asked Russo about some of the problems that Mike and Chris had together. Chris actually revealed a little bit more than he has in the past. He pointed to the Mike/Parcells relationship and the horse racing spots as an example of something that annoyed Chris a little. And conversely, Chris pointed to his passion for tennis as something Mike was probably annoyed by.

Glad to hear that these "big" issues contributed to the end of the best sports talk show around...

I just moved away to college a few days ago. It was pretty tough, but I got over the homesickness and mopey attitude after a few days.

You're closing in on 3 weeks now...

Kay was right in synch with Russo; he reports that the Mets lost, then corrects himelf thst they in fact won, but gives the wrong score.

Interesting insights from Dog; he sounds like a new man. Hate to admit this, but I kind of miss him.

Herbie...Agree about Dog. It was a good interview..

What blog?

There was some good stuff, but it was still kinda of wierd. They way they had been toward each show on the air, today they said some things that contradicted that, Kay at Russo's house one New Years Eve, things like that

Anon - That's encouraging to hear you're not homesick anymore. Good luck meeting new people!

Why would Kay and ESPN Radio promote a competing talk show on a competing radio service? It isn't like Kay is offered on the Sirius/XM ESPN channel.

Peteski said...

is the show archived anywhere?

Kbilly..I thought the same thing. Plus, Russo revealed that he will be doing a preview show tomorrow on SIRIUS but broadcasted from ESPN Zone in New York. So not only are they promoting a competing show, tomorrow they are allowing their restaurant to host that show...sort of bizarre...

Thank you very much gman26. I am looking forward to getting hammered every night as well as impregnating as many girls as possible.

BTW, the show was called "Mike and the Mad DOG", not Mike and the Mad BLOG". Might wanna change it before anyone notices.

Peace and god bless.

Anonymous obviously isn't attending Harvard...

Seton Hall University actually. It is located in South Orange, NJ. If I walk outside the gates I will be:

-shot
-stabbed
-raped
-a buyer of drugs

Def looking forward to it! (I fucking hate it)

Spoken like a true idiot, this anonymous character no wonder he is going to Seton Hall and not Harvard. And trust me you probably wont have the chance to impregnate any woman and stop stereotyping Newark if you were that scared you probably should of went elsewhere..

In more important issues i missed the Russo spot but it probably was music to the hears. And who knows maybe ESPN is as annoyed as we are w/ Francesca and has decided to team up with Dog to run Mike out of town...That would be funny.

Just got this email from Sirius:

Chris Russo's The Mad Dog Sports Show feeds off of his high-energy passion and in-your-face approach to sports talk. Russo will soon surround himself with other like-minded sports personalities when he creates Mad Dog Radio over the next few months.

I do like how things got to Seton Hall. The one right prediction that I can remember is when Francesa picked Seton Hall to make the Final Four in 1989. So there is some slight thread going on here. That and Anonymous 'having a laugh'.

gman, you do realize that this was my whole plan right?

Oh no, the admin deleted my comment...is there are reason for this?

Also, anyone else think I should make my own account so that other anon. can not take credit for my ingenious posts?

Peaceeeeee

I'll admit, I have no idea what is going on...if there is one Anon who just went to school, or multiple posters muddying things up...I can't really follow all the possibilities.

But if there is a kid out there who just got to school and felt a little homesick, here goes: Just a little, sincere good luck to you. I sometimes felt homesick and averse to being thrust into a new situation like that. It's all good. You'll settle in and I'm sure you're bright enough to figure out if it's worth it for you. Listen to Dog, Fatcesa, chill, stay true to your principles. Whatever works. The most important lessons are the ones you force yourself to understand, classroom be damned.

School isn't for everyone, but give it a chance.

good luck my friend. it's all good. be a good kid.

Rock, hell of a job by you posting that link to Dog's show today.

Can't wait to switch from Mike to Chris today at 2.

Anon - I deleted that one comment of yours. Let's keep it relatively clean. And yes, you should create an account so we can credit your mischievous ways. I suggest Loki, Norse god who was at times known as 'the contriver of all fraud'. I just remember his high-pitched voice from the old Thor cartoons. Anyone with me on this?

Anonymous said...

Alright I will now be posting as Loki. I sure hope no one pretends to be me and ruins my fabulous reputation. BTW, I appreciate the support on my college journey into many girl's tacos.

Ole Ole!

So who are we listening to this afternoon are you going to the sweet sounds of Chris Mad Dog Russo never thought id say Chris Russo and sweet sounding or do we listen to Mr. Rogers who will today try and tell us that maybe the Yanks arent dead after he declared them dead earlier this week instead of a Met sweep and the biggest series of the year coming up for the Mets this year..

For the record, how do i get listen to Dog's preview show today..

gman26 said...

I am told that dog will be on XM 144 at 2pm, which I have. I think he is the more compelling.

The interview is on 1050's website now for anyone who missed it (read: me).

This fat fuck loves this jingle dont let him fool us...

TheNextBestThing1 said...

Yea do the over unders at 2 o clock when he knows that everyone is going to Sirius..How about he do an over under with his weight 300 lbs..

Why would Russo go on Mike's direct competitor? ESPN New York tried (and is trying) to put WFAN out of business. Dog should have done a national show like Mike and Mike or not done anything. Not to mention ESPN doesn't allow its personalities to go on WFAN. Terrible job, Dog.
