WWHL

A few things that we have learned from the first official Mad Dog Unleashed show:

We have learned that Ron from Virginia Beach knows who Chris Russo is and doesn't need it explained to him all the time. We have learned that Ed Hochuli 'preens'. We have learned that Gary Bettman knows he has to sit through the 19 negative questions by Russo to get to the one positive question. We have learned that satellite radio has not fixed Russo's malapropisms("LT with the Daeth Varder helmet on." We have learned that like Martin Short, Joe Torre is not a strong swimmer. We have learned that Chris has a quick trigger finger with callers on his new show. We have learned that the Fan was too cheap to pay for usage rights for Springstein songs. We have learned that although we pay for no commercials on satellite radio and yet we still get them(I have XM and there are no commercials outside of show promos.) We have learned that Dog thinks that to connect with 'the heartland', he must talk more about college football.

And who is NOT 'sciked about the "All Metallica All the TIme Station"?

WE learned that Staubach is a top 10 QB and that Babe Ruth is a better athlete than Michael Jordan...

gman26, or anyone else who calls Doggie, PLEASE remind the nation that Dog starred in the NC-17 rated Bad Lieutenant with Mr. White. The whole movie revolved around Doggie on the radio.

The contributors should create a poll so we could rank the shows on a daily basis..Rate Unleashed vs Hyped Up..I would be interested to what happens..

Mystery Guest: Bud Selig.

I must say I'm a little disappointed with Russo's show today. But then again it's his first show so.....

I know it's a national show but he seems to be too much ALL OVER the place.

For example he starts out with the chargers - broncos and then the next thing i Know he has Gary Betman on. Nobody cares about hockey.

He just pops these random guests on. Joe Torre? I knew that one was coming.

Then he had southside Johnny? lol..... please!

And now Bud Selig?

Maybe it's just me but there is no flow at all...He's all over the place...Doesn't focus on anything.

Is it just me?

Comments?

Maybe I'm just used to his old show....It will take some time.

Anyway...it's better than fatso's show

What's up with all the fucking mystery? Is this Masterpiece Theatre or a sports talk show?

kb, you know as well as me, the movie revolved around Keitel's gambling and smack addictions. Granted, Doggie delivered the bad news, but I can't go too crazy.

gman26, but Doggie is the backbone of the movie, the voice that drives Mr. Wolf (or Mr. White) to his insanity. p.s. the murdered nun in that flick is hot, laying nekkid on the table. Nuns don't come that hot.

Who am I kidding the star of Bad Leutenant is Harvey's penis...

Mr. Wolf? Call me Winston.

Dog is confused by pitching rotations...

I'm with Rock. The first show is all over the place. He's trying way too hard to please everyone (never mind his new masters) .

He should pick a topic and play it out, move on to another topic -play that out, etc. Ala Rome (who also does a national show BUT does not have problem with a promo'ing a West Coast bias - Dog should NOT try to avoid an East Coast Bias).

Oh man, I'd much rather hear Dog than Francesa, but I'm not going to subscribe to satellite just to listen to him. Yeah, there's Stern too, but I gave up on him a long time ago, when he became a starfucker/name-dropper/self-promoter (actually, his horrible New Year's Eve PPV special years ago was the second-to-last straw).

Anyway, this blog is awesome; a great synopsis of Dog's show. Did he start with "aaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHH..."?

Is there a webcast of the mad dog's show?

gman26 said...

He did start with Aaaaaaaahhhh and then he went into 'Good day everybody.' Was 'afternoon' trademarked by WFAN? No jingle. It's sort of an audio montage of him yelling. On the whole 'dog' fetish that they have, I forgot to mention the inbump of 'he's taking on the big dogs with one paw behind his back.' Who is he, Kimbo Slice?

Agreed on the scattered nature of his show today. That is one advantage to having a partner. Helps you focus on one topic for awhile.

He said "good DAY everybody..." instead of afternoon b/c his show comes on at 11:00 in the morning on the west coast.

And Sirius/XM only promises no commercials on their music channels. All of the talk channels have spots, but not nearly as many as WFAN had. I liked listening to long stretches of Doggie today.

nice catch, anon. I was under the gun trying to get content out. and maybe the holdover of WWCJS in my head. But theoretically it could be What We Have Learned. T
