When asked why he proclaimed Sept 2nd to be the end date of the Marriage of Mike and Chris, did Neil Best say:
1. I spoke to Chernoff and he confirmed that the end was indeed approaching and that he wanted a fresh start for the baseball pennant races and the start of football season
2. Chris has a deal in place with Sirius and he will begin there right after Labor Day so that Chris can report on the US Open
3. Mike Francesca called him from Saratoga and he said "talk to me in September, Neil. There will be no Chris then."
Nope, it wasn't any of these. When asked on his live chat this afternoon why Sept 2nd would be the final day for the Mike and the Mad Dog show, his answer was...
"It's Labor Day and they will be back from vacation."
Neil has got this story pinned down. We cannot wait for new updates.

They seemed to be getting along fine yesterday from Albany. I just can't see them breaking up---not yet, at least. What are the reasons....disagreement over Don Nelson and Manny Ramirez? Surely, there has to be more than that.
And, can somebody tell me how much vacation Mike and Chris per year? Most Americans start with two, and at best, through longevity, you might get five. Seems like Francesa gets about 8.
Little help here.
Johnny...Mike and Chris are on teachers schedules..they pretty much get the summers off. one big difference - they ain't on teachers salaries.
It looks like the Turnip With Glasses, aka Neil Best, was too hasty trying to be the first to break the story, and has been backpedaling and feeding us bullshit (I have sources but I can't name them) ever since. Kind of like Chris Mortensen of ESPN rushing to be the first to tell us Eli Manning was going to be out 6-8 weeks last year.
