Mike's got Scott Gordon, the new Islanders coach on with him. Mike tried his best to sound like he knew what he was talking about when it comes to hockey, but he hit a bit of trouble with this question:
"Are you worried that the Islanders don’t have the where-with-all all to bring a, to bring a big free agent here?"
Mike, you almost aced that question...ALMOST. But, here's the thing, you ran into a wall by thinking that you could pull the name of a free agent out of the air..."Are you worried that the Islanders don’t have the where-with-all all to bring a, to bring a big free agent here?"

I laughed when Coach said how important it was that his team know how to skate, in ice hockey...You think?
And Mike also shot down the Icelanders ability to sell tickets and the progress of the Lighthouse Project. "I know 'cause I'm a Long Island guy."
And how about the slam re: ticket sales and progress of the Lighthouse project.
He should have hung up then.
Mike basically told him: "You had to take the job, because nobody else would hire you but be prepared to coach a not-very-tallented team with an overpaid and untradeable goalie in an empty, outdated, arena. Oh except when you play the Rangers in the Garden, because the Rangers have real fans."
Kbilly...couldn't have summed it up better than that..
