Let's Make a Deal

Mike just said he would trade Robinson Cano or Phil Hughes for Carl Crawford, but Mikey thinks the Yanks only have to give them Cano straight up to make the deal...Some callers suggested the Yankees should go after Curtis Granderson or Grady Sizemore. Mike acknowledged that those guys were the gold standard of guys available, but didn't shoot down the possibilities. He didn't think either team would trade those guys, but you can hear it in his voice that he wants one of them...But my issue here is more with the Yankee fans who call in with these ridiculous requests. Why is a team like Detroit or Cleveland EVER going to trade one of those guys to you? Why do Yankee fans always feel entitled to ANY player out there? Usually Mike shoots this stuff down, but you can tell he's considering it today. Also, Mike doesn't like Cano, but he unequivocally says that Cano will win a batting title in his career.

Cano is more valuable than Granderson.

FTLT

Let me guess....Mets fan??

NEVER, EVER have I EVER heard a Yankee fan say to me they feel ENTITLED to players. Now they may propose a ridiculous trade constantly, but "entitled" I heard that for Mets and Sox fans forever, and I can tell you WITHOUT a doubt, barring a few wackjobs, entitled NEVER enters the picture.
