Who Takes Mike's Seat?

As we here at the Mikeandthemadblog just fell asleep during Chris' interview with the fascinating Buck Martinez, we've been pondering the question on everyone's mind: who fills Mike's seat? I mean let's be fair here, we all know that when the divorce becomes official, Russo will get custody of the 1-6:30PM time slot and Mike will take his expertise elsewhere. So who replaces Mike? Does Chris go solo? Can a Joe Benigno be called up from the minors? Could Evan Roberts be drafted out of high school? What about a former protege - say Marc Malusis? The Mad Dog and the Schmoozer show? Minko gets the call from the bullpen, but simply sits there and doesn't speak? Can a Bruce from Bayside get a crack at the big time? Kenneth Ackerman, the Garfield biographer? Jon Heyman - oh wait, he already sort of hosts the show. The possibilities are endless.

they should just leave Dog solo. and they should fire Evan Roberts. Does anyone on the station have less credibility than him? He was yelling and screaming last year for the Mets to NOT sign Kyle Losch; he bet the Mets over 95 wins before the season started; and last week he guaranteed that the Mets would be ahead of the Marlins by July 4. He's a know-nothing little twerp who can't see past his Mets-colored glasses to offer anything of interest. It's so below Beningo's knowledge that Joe has to work with this shmuck.

Why Not Chris Carlin, i mean just get him a wig of mike's hair and glasses and its like nothing has changed. Plus not having him do the god awful show with Adam Schein on SNY would be very nice

The Marquis and Willie.

"The Marquis and Willie" best idea yet...

Speaking of Carlin's and Schein's show, what's with that logo, with the shaft between the two open mouths? It looks like it should be on the front of a gay bar. Bad job outta them.

Carlin is a robber. He is out to get everybody's job. Now, he has taken over the Rutgers basketball duties (does anybody actually listen?). He is simply too chubby for TV, and really shouldn't be on tv.

Evan Roberts is simply too young and has no credibility. He said that the 1986 Mets captured New York, which may be true, but Roberts was only what, four years old.

Roberst and Beningo are not bad, but their show has become the New York Mets Recap Show, which is nauseating, particularly when the team is 40-42. Where are you Bruce Boisclair?

The best thing about Russo is he may be the tonly one at the station that is not a fan of the New York sports teams---he roots for the Nets---while the others are glorified cheerleaders. Mike is a Yankee apologist who hold grudges. Loved Bernie Williams, never knocked him; hated Strahan, always knoocked him.

I could see WFAN using Mike in the morning and Chris in the afternoon. Carton and Bommer are a snooze, but Mike will probably move on to ther things. I can see Mike taking a job with the NFL Network. Sure, he knocked NFLN, but he has always done his football show on Sunday and I can certainly see that continuing on the NFL Network this fall or whenever he leaves the station.

The Dog loves sports too much to leave radio. He also likes being out of his house for 6 hours per day so Jeannie can take care of the little doggies.

Look for Chris to stay, and Mike to bolt. I do hope that Dog has Mike on his solo show, because 19 years is a pretty good run.

What about 1050 ESPN Radio. The have Michael Kay from 3 to 7, and the annoying Kellerman and Kenny from 10 to 1. Could they make a play for a mike Francesa to be their morning host? Compete with Dog in the afternoon?

Might they be a player when this all shakes out.

Johnny...I just dont ever see Mike going to ESPN Radio. He knows they are like the little leagues in terms of sports talk radio. You think he wants to have rundown meetings in the morning? I see him definitely taking an NFL gig..

I think I am the only big Kellerman and Kenny fan around. Kellerman has a big ego, but unlike Francessa, he has a sense of humor about it. I appreciate that they are just about the only talk radio hosts who know what OPS+ and run differential are.

Kellerman definitely prepares for his show; but that stuff is boring.

Regardles, FAN will live and die by the boy wonder Evan Roberts, I hope it gets resolved so I can still enjoy Francesa's condecending aura scenario. How about Dan "Ooooglah" from Dog today! Put Joe B on with him!
