The Cease List

Dog fired away at the Pirates in his open today for making the awful trade they did with the Yankees where they dealt Marte. "And the Pirates are worried about paying arbitration money next year? I mean cease to exist as a franchise if you can't afford $6 million for the best lefty set-up guy in the GAME!!! Let's trade him and get 4 NOBODY'S from the Yankees!!!"

I remember a couple years ago Russo saying the same thing about the Tampa Rays...that they should cease to exist as a franchise. I wonder how many teams would have been eliminated from the sport over the years if Doggie got his way...

I gotta give the Dog some props for admitting that he was wrong about leaving Joba in the bullpen. The caller had to push him a little bit to say the exact words "I was wrong," but he said it. That's more than you'll ever get from Francesa.

Brian..Agreed, but I was waiting for him to say "Mike and I were wrong.." but then I think a little light bulb went on in Dog's head and he realized that Mike would never admit he was wrong..

By Dog's logic, Mike Stanton is the best lefty in the game.

When will Dog realize that NOBODY cares about set lists. Springsteen and Joel, both a bit overrated. Be fair. Not everybody loves Brice Springsteen and the recovering drunk, Billy Joel.

Someone should call Dog while he's solo: "Dog, can I take a minute and read you the set list from Springsteen's April 1981 MSG show?" "Yeah, go ahead! [chuckles, claps hands] Go ahead, let's hear it!" Recite a bunch of post-1981 Springsteen songs, including songs from his latest CD, and throw in names like "Scenario," "Loosey Goosey" and "Say Something Funny, Mikey." He'll never catch on.
