fatso cries that the yanks havent had their full lineup for no more than 5 games this year. i feel like the yanks starting 8 have been healthier than the mets (i mean, we have alou for crying out loud). (and i highly doubt fatso is correct that the yanks have only trotted out their starting 8 5 times this year).

thing is, how come this excuse of health works with the yanks slumping and didnt ever get mentioned when the mets were losing, and secondly, whos got the older, more fragile team if the yanks are less healthy than the mets? will they rip on cashman for having such an old team, like they did with minaya, or does cashman get a pass because he doesnt sign as many latinos?

Have they mentioned anything about the mets winning streak? or was it just swept under the rug?

The mets winning streak was very much swept under the rug. it was a quick segment highlighted by Russo saying that he "still doesn't really believe in the mets or trust them." And though Mike admitted the mets were playing well he threw in the "manuel is not gil hodges" quip, as if to shut mets fans up. Francesa has been VERY adamant about the Yankees being in a Great position right now. he chalked off the toronto series to facing halladay and burnett and then commented that tampa is going to have to face those two starters right after the all-star break. Meanwhile, on Friday, when talking about Burnett going to the Phillies, francesa said he wasn't high on Burnett, that "you couldn't trust him." Now, 3 days later, he is lights out. He is very much playing the injury card today and that the yanks haven't had their "A" lineup all year. Welcome to the Majors Mikey, where every team goes though injury issues. Take off your shoes and stay a while...

First it was the travel, then the young pitching growing pains, now the injuries. How many more excuses can Mike make (always with the caveat "not to make excuses but. . .). The answer to why they are bad is Derek Jeter period. Any decent #2 hitter in that lineup would have 70 runs by now.

As far as injuries, Sox haven't had Ortiz pretty much all year with the major slump and the injury. Alou and Church are corner outfielders and people said it was "lack of heart" that the Mets had a bad stretch. Please.

Anonymous...don't forget the weather. the yanks don't hit in cold weather.

Anonymous, that statement about Derek Jeter is embarassingly absurd

FTLT, sure you'd want Mike to take his shoes off? The stench would probably kill a horse.

Talking about B Packer.

And I don't trust Burnett either. He is ALWAYS lights out against the Yanks, its ever OTHER team that he him like a rug.
