Who of you out there has played Dance Dance Revolution? Well, for the smattering that have, you know that when you are not active in the game, the DDR voice gets a little antsy and yells 'Boring!' In the first half hour of the show today, I have already yelled that at Russo. He is not very active or interesting for that matter. Russo talks about the 'bad loss' out of the Mets last night. Fine. But he never really defines why this is such a big deal. Boring. Then he throws out some anecdote about a tennis partner who through nepotism, he got tickets to the Yankee game. Sure enough, the game was last night, so he can have a little chuckle at his Yankee fan friend who got to see a Yankee drubbing. Boring. Then somehow he moves to the Cubs/Brewers game, which apparently every listener of the show is waiting to hear about. And what does he talk about? How Gagne(Gag-nay) and Torres can't exist together in the Brewers bullpen. Boring.
As of 1:30, Russo has only advanced to rehashing the Yankees getting Marte. Boring. Today is a glaring example of what we will all miss if Mike and Dog split up. Boring.

He's got to get off this 'Mets have no heart' kick. That's what's boring. It seems like he bashes the Mets a lot lately, maybe it's YES deal, but man, they're not that bad. Give the Yankees some grief already, they were seriously pitching Mussina as a Cy Young candidate and Giambi as an All Star. They both looked fifty last night. But he spends all day bashing the Mets.
It's August!
I give WFAN credit for one thing---they talk about GAMES---not gossip like ESPN does. ESPN Radio is all Brett "The Ass" Favre all the time. I would rather hear MMD talk about Brewers-Cubs, then why the Packers are struggling with the Favre decision.
Well Johnny, MMD definitely gave you enough of the Brett Favre saga yesterday.
At least he's gotten to a real guest - Dan Shaughnessy. Although he's rambling through his questions which turn into, set up question, give my own opinion, lead toward question but don't ask, give more of my opinion and then eventually ask half a question which is really his own opinion.
wonder if they'll do anything special for heyman with the trade deadline coming up....he'll probably just read rotoworld blurbs on the air
anyone catch the word he used in his opener? it was definitely long but it was definitely not a real word.
Dog went through each player the Yankees gave up in the trade with the Pirates and gave a reason why they are no good. Ohlendorf gives up too many home runs, Tabata gets into off the field trouble, Karstens has already struggled in the majors. When he gets to McCutchen he says "McCutchen? he's in Trenton!!"
So apparently the fact that you play ball for the Double A Trenton Thunder means that you are a bad baseball player. Tell that to Robinson Cano doggy.
Oh and you can add Sidney Ponson to the stinks list (Dog's right about that one).
I'll still miss Mad Dog if he leaves and goes to Sirius though.
Brian...did he technically use the word "stinks" about Ponson. terrible does not count. i missed it, so let me know for sure...
Ponson went on the list with today's date. although I'm sure we're a few years late on that one.
he said 'stinks' as plain as day.
Salomon Torres was also mentioned by a commenter. can anyone confirm that russo said he stinks today?
He definitely said "stinks" although he didn't say it in the screaming mad dog tone; it was a very calm "Ponson stinks." Does that still count?
I can confirm that he said Salomon Torres stinks.
Pointless interview with Johnny Bench... BORING
Johnny Bench type interviews and the whole bit mean time for a break. Time to do something else with my life while the 50+ set turn up the volume on their radios. An old-timer interview also inevitably leads to more reminiscing about the good old days. So, in essence, a simple book plug by some dinosaur eats up about 60-90 minutes of the show.
remember the random interview with ryan braun.
and everyone knew ponson was gonna be added to the stink list
I believe he's said Ohlendorf stinks as well, but he's definitely said it about Torres. Twice that I heard, actually. Pretty "ho hum" show today. I did get a kick out of Chris screaming about the Pirates some more. Still, I can't see Chris on Sirius. I feel like that would be like a fish out of water, myself...myself.
And Mike alone would make Joe and Evan seem like Imus.
