Russo's open, with some thoughts of mine in parenthesis:
"Sometimes you have saves instead of wins and today was a Mets save...they spent much too much time on Santana (THEY = SNY)...we all know the Met bullpen has blown saves for Santana (JUST LIKE THE GIANTS PEN HAS BLOWN THEM FOR LINCECUM), it's been a theme all year and he's pitched well. We all know that. Today was not the idea that we got to be wrapped up about Santana's 10th win. Today was a game the New York Mets had to win (BECAUSE GOD KNOWS I WOULD LET YOU KNOW ABOUT IT IF THEY LOST). They had to beat San Diego 2 out of 3. That is ALL there is to it! They haven't played well now for a while, haven't played well since the All-Star break, off that 10 game winning streak, they've sort of puttered out a little bit...They needed this game in the absolute WORST way. That's the bottom line on 8-7-08, win the game right here and they did. This is not about Santana and this is not about necessarily the bullpen although obviously that's a theme (GEE YA THINK?). Today was about the Mets figuring out a way after a terrible job by Schoeneweis (ALREADY ON THE STINKS LIST), you know Jody Gerut basically hit the ball to the new Stadium, this was a scenario where they HAD to win this game. Heath Bell's a good relief pitcher, Heath Bell's done a good job (ALL PRAISE HEATH BELL)...as Wright told Kevin Burkhardt on the postgame on SNY looking for a slider and he got it and he golfed it out of the ballpark. That was a huge hit for Wright. Now listen, I am not that impressed that the Mets today won the game in the bottom of the 9th inning...they took 2 out of 3 against San Diego and yes, they moved a little closer because the Phillies with Hamels are losing again to Florida...so I understand 2 games is better than 4 games (IS THAT HOW IT WORKS?). I understand that. BUT this is NOT a scenario here where I want to spend a lot of time "ahh look at the Mets" but if the Mets had lost this game today, I would have spent half of it on this 2 hour and 15 minute soiree basically telling you that my god...my goodness the Mets stink, they're back to their old ways. The enigma continues. Jerry Manuel matchup city to a fault. Enough already. But I don't do that now (UMM, YOU JUST DID THAT!) so we'll spend 6, 7 minutes on it and we'll get off it because the Mets did today what they are supposed to. They are supposed to win the rubber game against the San Diego Padres, the worst team in the National League...(BY ANY CHANCE, WERE THEY SUPPOSED TO WIN TODAY?)"

i like when dog says, "be careful what you wish for jets fans."
"be careful when you wish for a Hall of Fame QB who led his team to the NFC title game last year and lost to a defense that beat the undefeated Patriots. Could ya please with the wanting to win this year? The NFL is about long-term development."
"somebody is going to have to step up in the bullpen and respond."
Oh, cool. Didn't realize it was that simple. Just say it has to happen and it will.
I love how Dog doesn't know what "Karma" means.
I think he thinks "Karma" means "momentum."
you shoulda quoted russo when he made a bushism (making up a word): egrarious when he meant egregious.
and then when he tried to show off his pop culture knowledge, he said eddie kunz looked like kenny haskell from leave it to beaver.
you mean EDDIE haskell? haha. gotta love russo.
i am dissapointed in ruso. Very lackluster performance. No tirades, no screaming. no getting under anyone's skin. terrible job. no stink list additions. no fastballs to girardi...
Kenny Haskell. That's classic! That's up there with asking Mike if "Daredevil" was based on a true story.
He's such a stupid, stupid excuse for a human being.....I know a lot of posters like this chump, I just can't figure out why. Is there something attractive about stupidity?
