Mike vs Carlin

One of the best segments since the departure of the Dog just featured Francesa and Carlin going at it over Rutgers football. As usual, Mike dismissed the program as an utter joke and once again displayed his contempt for coach Greg Schiano. Carlin, the Rutgers apologist that he is, tried his best to defend the program. Kim Jones apparently took a breather. But it was a very good few minutes. But here's the question that needs to be answered: What did Greg Schiano do to Mike? We learned last week that the reason Mike tried to deal David Wright out of town was because of a personal issue he had with Wright. Mike loves to kill Schiano. There is obviously something else at play here...Something happened. So I turn to you, readers of this blog, to find out what happened between the two. First one that gets to the bottom of this wins.

not sure if it is specific to Mike, but Schiano and the whole program stuck out there chest WAY too prematurely and also ran up scores and Ray Rice's rushing stats in 4th quarters of blowouts - RU was a nice story 2 years ago but they needed a reality check - it wasn't very long before that they were losing 70-10 to WVU, et al. they are in a hole this year and will probably have a losing and non-bowl season - when you build a solid D1 program, this doesn't happen after moderate success for 3 consecutive years + well regarded recruiting classes - I am a big CFB fan and have followed OU (OKLA) and Army locally for many years -

I just think it is what fred boz has said. Rutgers does stick out their chest way too much. They have a win over Morgan St this year. They do live on that Louisville win like it happened yesterday. They probably play in the worst big conference in college football, even the Mountain West is better this year. Also one point veal Francesa is right on is when Schiano says his kids aren't used to losing games like they are USC.

i'm guessing schiano snubbed Mike at a southside eddie show.

Did you hear Mike tell the story of his encounter with Joe Paterno?

He said that Joe Paterno recognized and approached him and they had a good chat.

Mike made sure to tell it this way. Maye Schiano did not pay homage to him when Mike was holding court.

Rutgers also ran it up on Navy and showed them up BADLY. They won a little, but did it with zero class.

That is the recipe for a flash in the pan, not a consistent winner.

Ok, loyal readers and commentators as an alum of Rutgers University, i hate to say it but i agree w/ Francesa on this one. Rutgers footballs have an heir about themselves as if they had won the national title and unfortunately they get from their classes coach. Rutgers dont get me wrong is a fine institution and i loved it there but the football program is an utter joke, raising tuition to expand on a stadium that they couldnt fill to begin with. Student camped out for one night before the Louisville game and all of sudden we need to build more seats. And for schiano to say that he if the expansion is not complete by 2010 he is leaving after they built him a million dollar mansion on campus is fucking ridiculous. After this seasons performance he should be lucky that RU wants to keep him. But to answer your question Mike hates Rutgers b/c he didnt get enough free wings and diet coke when he Dog did the remote for the Louisville game..

It was a great routine. The three are a disaster. Kim has possibilities. Carlin will always be an underling. And as I said the other day, the sidekick/s have to be FUNNY. Period.

I think they're both right. Mike is right about Rutgers running up the score, giving Rice 40 carries a game so he can rack up 200+ yards a game even when it's a blowout, etc., but he also gets on Carlin for defending Rutgers because he gets paid to do their games. Like Mike wouldn't do it any differently. What's Carlin supposed to say? "Yeah, they suck all right. I wish they'd stop paying me."

Judge Judy...that doesn't sound like a verdict to me..pick a side.

Well, I guess I'll side with Carlin.
