Mike Declares WAR on Carton

"If they choose to belittle the people that work here, that's their business, if they think that's funny - it isn't. There's a meanness that Carton seems to bring to the program and wants to belittle these people that have worked here a long time...Not me. Don't worry about me. If I want to take care of him, I can do it in 5 minutes. It won't even take me 5 minutes. He walks around here and can't kiss up to me enough when he's around here, so if he wants a war, bring it on. It won't be a long one."

NICE! Finally a REAL reason to listen in to WFAN.

what instigated all of this??

Wait, wait, now Mike is saying "there is nothing to it." What happened during the break? Mike just pussied out of declaring war.

and now he's saying it's all cross promotion and it's all tongue in cheek. Still, he sounds very condescending...

He's blowing it off but still getting in little jabs by saying,"they'll get it together, don't worry, I mean they haven't been together very long, just give it time."

This all started because Mike listened to a clip from Boomer and Carton where they were making fun of his search for a new co-host. They were naming various people and playing their name in the radio-announcement voice. Mike got mad, declared war, came back from break, and signed a treaty.

I came in after it started but I saw his face. it was NOT tongue in cheek.

For 2 days in a row Loki--- I agree with you!!!

I have hardly watched Mike all day but was lucky to catch that segment and I'll closely watch the rest of the show.

Before Mike went to commercial he did state that Chernoff came into the room. Obviously Mike and Chernoff had a discussion about how wrong Mike was and Mike quickly changed his attitude after the break.

Mikes EGO will soon be the end of his show!!! He really needs to be careful!

Carton must have found naked pictures of Roe...I didn't hear any of this, but Mike belittles the people at the station more than anyone.

Yeah Chernoff definitely came in and put Mike in his place. When Chernoff first came in, Mike said it on air in a somewhat mocking tone, as saying "uh-oh the big, bad boss is here to put me into time out."

I should also note that before he declared war, he also went off about how he is the bread and butter of WFAN, and his show keeps Boomer and Carton fed.

YES showed Chernoff using is hand to mimick a gun to his head as he pulled the trigger.

What's a Carton?

The fact of the matter is, Mike was unable to get the job done in a big spot. He declared war on Carton and then immediately changed his mind and said that it was all a joke.

Gimme Derek Jeter or Manny Ramirez in that situation. They'll get the job done. I'm not saying they need to get rid of Mike, but someone in that core has to go. Maybe Minko, maybe Adrienne Watson. They need to find somebody that knows how to come up big after declaring war.

kbilly, shut your mouth.(unless you're still waiting for that stock broker to finish up)

I think some caller from Middletown just suggested Mike was doing Omar's bidding in floating the Wright trade possibility in order to soften the blow for Mets fans.

(who on here suggested this theory the other day, can't remember who, NBT?)

Mike protested vehemently this suggestion.

Mike did puss out. A caller tried to keep it going, and he said not to go there, that Carton was saying it all in fun to cross-promote their shows. Mike may believe this, but I doubt a talentless dipshit like Carton knows or cares about something like cross-promotion.

WT - it was Anon JD. Was that you on the phone JD today? Do you live in MIddletown CT or NJ?

JD's comments from two days ago:

Could it be that Omar has tipped Mike off and has asked for Mikes help to soften the inevitable blow to us fans? I do believe in conspiracy theories and Mike has been "way too relentless" on the David Wright bashing for me to think the above is not possible.

Hey gman26,

No that was'nt me on the phone today.

I live in Northern NJ.

I did'nt hear the call but I still believe that their must be a unknown to us good reason for Mike relentless need to trade David Wright and the idea that he may be trying to help Omar out is'nt out of the question.

I do think Mike is slowly accepting the silliness in his week long tirade on Wright since no other WFAN personality has agreed with him and Mike has even been ridiculed for it in some of the NY sports pages.

Jon Heyman even stated today that you just don't trade young talent like Reyes and Wright and Mike seemed to "laughingly" agree.

I also think Cartons comments this week and his defense of Wright helped lead up to Mikes disgusting outburst towards Carton.

I'm off to work now and looking forward to a Football Friday show!

Im so pissed that im about to cry that i missed General Mike Fatcesa go off on carton. Does anyone have any video on this. Can someone please inform me of what the rift was about. But your comments do illustrate that "Churny" aka Chernoff has some balls.

Mike's face was like death, definite classic, but he went a little too far. Carton addressed it this morning, took some of the comments out of context, but was game to go on Mike's show today for NFL picks, that would be great. Boomer shot it down. Carton definitely challenged Mike back, and if he doesn't watch it will learn fast what a ride he has gotten to enjoy thus far...Carton definitely knows cross promotion. He is a big doosh sometimes though, such a dick about the Giants, I would turn on him on a dime and so would the rest of WFAN if he doesn't watch his flash in the pain in the ass.
