GUEST HOSTS ON THEIR WAY...

This just in from Neil Best...

Mike Francesa hasn't yet named the members of his new supporting cast on WFAN, but soon listeners at least will be able to hear some of the possibilities for themselves.
Three people familiar with the station's plans said Francesa will welcome prospective cast members to join him this month, including the tag team of Chris Carlin and Kimberly Jones next week.
Francesa also likely will be joined by other guest voices, not all of whom necessarily are interested in or qualified for permanent gigs at WFAN.
Originally, Francesa set Sept. 5 as his goal to unveil a new look for his show, but after waiting for a couple of candidates who turned out to be unavailable, he said more recently he would opt for patience in naming a successor or successors to Chris Russo.

not sure if you covered fatso saying ryan church hated ny and the team, but heres a daily news clip from adam rubin merely five weeks ago:

“Church revealed that his wife Tina was driven to tears by the standing ovation the Shea faithful gave before his first at-bat (after returning from the disabled list). The hard-nosed Church said the fans’ embrace cemented his desire to spend the rest of his career in Flushing. He’s even open to signing a long-term contract now to wipe away his arbitration years.”

fatso's source must be from the guy working the cash register at subways or something.

Something tells me he's leaning towards Kim Jones. I mean, who wouldn't wanna pummel that ass?

Tell Mike he is 500 lbs of radio sports personality...

Kim Jones = awful radio talk show host.

Is anyone in agreement with me that today's show is extremely boring...

He may be an a-hole, but he is a charitable guy. Anyone else hear the Rays owner say "you can call us the "Devil Rays," you sent us a very generous check."

Francesa is giving the candidates. My money is on Benigo with Ron Darling as the wild card.

to follow up Jason...not sure if you just heard, but someone called in and questioned whether or not Ryan Church was happy in New York. Mike said, "I'll put my sources up against your sources." Then diminished the guy by saying, "Ryan Church is talking to some guy from California?" Not that this proves anything, but Church is from California. Born and raised.

Mike under attack. I love it.

Anyone hearing the technical difficulties Dog is having? I don't think Sirius can handle a remote broadcast.

If Kim Jones reads this blog, I'm sure she wasn't too happy to see "Francesa" "Chris Carlin" "Kimberly Jones" and "tag team" in the same sentence.

Fatcesa's rambling, confusing response to 'the working stiff' asking to fill in for a few hours sounded like David St. Hubbins answering an interviewer who asked about the end of Spinal Tap.

John Franco. They let him do a show every once in a while.

I find it very funny that not only does the Diet Coke Diva make terrible predictions (TB Rays, Mad Men) about things he has no control over, but he also makes terrible predictions about the things HE CAN CONTROL (putting together a new program, giving said program a name and a jingle, saying he'd never have another partner)!

The dude is hapless. When he said he might "take the boys up to Mohegan Sun, maybe for a double dip on a Thursday and a Friday." And I thought to myself, No way does that happen. Tankcesa just has no credibility on anything, to the point that I don't even trust him on mundane things that are entirely under his own control. Like if he said his house was brown, I would assume he was lying and assume his house was beige.

On Fatcesa's Credibility

It reminds me of The Simpsons episode, except Fatcesa has no lie detector to call Bullshit:

Moe on The Lie detector test:
Eddie: Did you hold a grudge against Mr. Burns?
Moe: no. (false)
Moe: Aright! Maybe I did, but I didn't shoot him. (true)
Eddie: Checks out. Okay, sir, your free to go.
Moe: Good, cause I have a hot date tonight. (false)
Moe: a date. (false)
Moe: Dinner with friends. (false)
Moe: Dinner alone. (false)
Moe: Watching TV alone. (false)
Moe: Aright. I'm going to sit at home and ogle the girls
in the Victorian Secret Catalogue. (false)
Moe: Sears Catalogue. (true)
Moe: Now would you unhook this already, please? I don't
deserve this kind of shabby treatment! (false)

Franco? No way. He's less charasmatic than Richard Neer and less interesting than Ed Randall.

He did say he'd have Eddie C. and Sweeney, Beningo, Evan Roberts, and Carlin and Jones. Not too impressive. I'd like him to have Steve Somers and some guest hosts in the sports world. Sean Avery would've been great if he stayed with the Rangers. I think Derek Jeter would make for a good show, but he'd never do it. Keith Hernandez would be good too.

Mike from Montclair had a great call today he absolutely destroyed Mike, it was funny. He started by saying you trading Youkilis for Wright is absolutely ridiculous. He didnt call up to kiss ass i was actually shocked..

Does Mike dislike Steve Somers? Both guys have been on the station forever, yet Mike never really alludes to Steve all that much, and when he did, he referred to Beningo as a "Met fan, but a good guy". I'm probably speculating, but....

I am pulling for Evan. He does not back down to Mike. I think it'll make for interesting radio.

I'd like Evan too - but I don't see it ever happening. Mike just has absolutely no respect for Evan - exactly the same as he treats anyone younger than him.

NBT- I also herad the call from Mike from Montclair. I was amazed to hear him coming right after Francesa. I think Mike was taken aback at first that his #1 fan wasn't just rolling over and agreeing with him. Best part was after htey toussled for a while, throwing stats back and forth (whenever MF sees stats against his argument he discounts stats, "you can manipulate stats to say anything" - but when they prove him right they are end all, be all) MF did his classic caller cut-off without saying anything, then he rambled on for about another minute to sound like he won the argument.

Whatdoyouhave- yea i was wondering where the hell he went. But thanks for pointing out Mike cutting him off. He killed Mike in that argument. Fatcesa is a pussy.
