Who kidnapped Mike?

So I heard a split second of WFAN at 1:15 and I heard Evan Roberts yabbering on about Omar and San Berdino (Zappa reference, can anyone out there name the album?).

I thought Mike just had a week off this month. So for those of you cheap bastids that refuse to shell out $150 a year for (almost) commercial-free radio, enjoy the punk kid who thinks he knows stuff but really isn't old enough to sit at the adult table for Thanksgiving...As opposed to the curmudgen who sits at the head of the table and demands the turkey leg and choicest white meat cuts.

I get a feeling that Dog is going to be on a Woodstock kick today. 40th anniversary coming up and he's reading Pete Fornatale's book on the subject. Of course, Dog has never even seen the Woodstock movie, but in his defense, it was released after 1965 so why would he bother...?

RIP Jim Johnson...I hate the Eagles but I respected him as a defensive genius.

Great post KBilly. Funny, AM radio was so bad today that Dr. Joy Brown got some play in the 'rolla. Evan Roberts claims to have read Moneyball yet he lives his life on not getting dates, RBIs and batting average. Herb is all I can say. Still, amazingly enough, FAN is WAY better than 1050. Even by killing SAS they still suck. I guess it's easy to be good when competition doesn't exist. Zappa is not my style but how many guys who read this blog heart the Gorilla Biscuits?

How is Max Kellerman still without a job? WFAN is foolish to not sign him up! I guess there's a 6 month "no compete" clause or something?

Bigjf...exactly. We would get boxing and smart sports talk. Knicks fan too. I can imagine Mad Max being tough to employ but he's the best radio guy available right now. By far. We would humiliate the other hosts, though, and that might be a concern.

So are you Mets fans feeling a little better? Or is this just false hope?

That's a good question Loki.

My answer is there is nothing to feel better about and the recent wins are a head fake and false hope.

I believe in supporting your team thru the good, the bad, and the ugly, but I actually want to see the mets lose. I want the record at the end of the year to show just how bad this season has been. I don't want Omar or Jerry pointing to the record, standings, or games behind and say "look- if we were healthy we would have been there at the end".

The Mets orginization gave up on this team and their fans back in June. I have given up on them in July!

I wish Mike was around to speak to the Bernazard situation and Omars/Wilpons handling of it. It could have made for some hilarious TV.

I think mike still has plenty of vacation time left before football season. Of course he promised he would address the shows situation for a backup but that was only like a year ago. He must need more time.

For now we're stuck with nothing on YES and a mix up during the day with the only show that's tolerable being Joe B. and Evan.

I can understand someone not being into Zappa, He does some out there stuff, but the dude was a total genius. San Berdino is a rocking song. Check out the album Joe's Garage too, lots of good song on that album. In retrospect, I should have awarded joncane an icepick to the forehead.
