A Swoon?

Yanks could head to the break on a 3 game losing streak if they don't bounce back today. They've also relinquished their 1st place tie in the meantime. What does it mean? Probably nothing but we'll get legions of fans, burning up the airwaves in the coming week, miserable that their team cannot beat the good teams.

Personally, I don't think this Anaheim team is very good at all. I put them on the same level as Minny, without the star power.

So, looks like Gatti was murdered by his wife. What a joke. Maybe he had some issues and maybe he wasn't the best husband. Whatever. He didn't deserve to go like that and we've been robbed of his future and he'll never re-visit some of his classic fights like Ruelas, Rodriguez and Robinson. I am interested in hearing Micky's take so if anyone finds it, please pass info along.

Nice day for the Mets yesterday. Johan went Johan and they have a chance to go into the break on an upswing. Careful optimism, right JD.

Sunday Funday fellas.

So Lupica used his weekly column today to use the McNair murder as a reason for harsher gun laws. Now that it is out that Gatti's wife used a purse strap, does he want to ban them too?
Same exact situations, angry woman waits for man to fall asleep then she kills him. If McNair's woman didn't have a gun, she chould have just choked him out, or stabbed him in his sleep.
F--kin bleeding heart liberals.

Guns don't kill people. Rappers do.

Well the Mets head into the All Star break on a winning note and actually hit some HR's today.

I listened to the game while hanging out in the yard. Hopefully the Mets will at least keep things interesting till late August heading into football season. I'm one of those fans who is'nt buying into any excuses and Omar better be held accountable for his actions/inactions at the end of the season.

It's a Damm shame about Gatti!!! The bar he used to frequent was A.J.s go-go bar in Secaucus. Well known for it's Brazilian women. I have a friend who married one and another who met a girl there and moved to Brazil with her.

I also used to see Gatti at the Tiki bar in Point Pleasant. He really carried himself as just a regular normal guy.

Not only did we lose a great athlete we also lost a great person.

Let's stick to sports boys.

Speaking of that, new podcast of Lenny Melnick from fantasypros911.com on www.fantasymixx.com. He gives good info on the history of fantasy sports, including how he and his partner helped convince MLB that fantasy baseball was a legitimate enterprise.

Hey GMan...boxing is a sport even if Max is the only one who will talk about it.

Fantasy sports, OTH, is great.

If one is too cheap or too broke to actually bet.

Sorry GMan. I know it's your blog but you whiffed on this one.

I wasn't talking about boxing. I'm all for it. I don't care if Gatti was as dumb as a box of rocks. He was entertaining to watch. Although I'm more a fan of pre mid-80's boxing. The sport is too hard to pull for.

As for 'let's stick to sports', I was referring to KBilly's decision to get political in the comments. No need for that on here.

I only brought it up because Lupica is a NY sports writer who used his sports platform to get his political views out there by using a murder in the sports world. And he's wrong.

I thought is was a full circle sort of thing.

Besides, Lupica makes Mike and/or Dog look like Stephen Hawking.
