All-Star Game hit pool

Ok everyone. Here is the ONLY way to enjoy the MLB All-Star game...

You get together with at least 4 friends. Everyone puts $1 per batter in the kitty. Point man rotates clockwise. Every time there's a hit the point man takes the pot. No hit and it rolls over to the next person in the rotation, and everybody re-antes up.

I hope that makes sense, but it is pretty simple if you think about it.

For cheap bastards like me, this sounds like it could also be repurposed as a drinking game. A shot of beer with each homerun. Like a baseball power hour, but since its the long drawn out HR Derby, its more like a power 3 hours.

I was thinking about that. That's a great idea and could be used for other sports as well.

Hmmm...I do love to gamble but I don't know if the MLB ASG is enough of an event to have people over. I mean, it's a meaningless game played on a Tuesday that'll end well after midnight.

I think I'll just watch Law and Order: Criminal Intent on UHD.

we do a version of this when we go to games -- $1/person per half inning - pot pays out when/if ump tosses the ball out for the next half inning and it lands and stays in the dirt area of the mound - doesnt always work, some games he'll just hand it to the pitcher or something

Trust me, the hit pool makes the game interesting. You watch every at bat.

13 hits out of 54 outs. The pool made for good $$$

That is a simple, yet great idea!

I actually thought the game was really enjoyable this year. But 2:31 with good pitching and defense will do that. This one didn't drag on, unlike the derby...

I'm actually a bit sorry I did'nt pay more attention to the game since it seems like it was a well played competitive game.

The pre-game did'nt do much to peak my interest and although I applaud those who do good for their community I did'nt need MLB to tell me to "Go Beyond".

The fact that I work for Pepsi(Frito-Lay) who works me like a DOG I was a bit insulted that they can sponsor the pre-game and pay for super bowl ads but can't seem to find a way to give me a raise after 20 years.

I thought I would see more posts on the game and peoples thoughts?

I mean if people are interested I could always do a report on Tuesday nights Deadliest Catch episode. Ha Ha- just kidding!
