Many time, long time readers of this blog know that we love our Few Good Men quotes. But today we're going the way of Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles. After listening to the early parts of today's show, I'm starting to feel like Madeline Kahn's Lilli Von Shtupp. Francesa is like a broken record. The same old shit every day. Bash the Mets, talk about Yankee Stadium, have on boring guests, say "I understand that the economy is bad", etc, etc.
In some senses it's boring that I'm writing another boring post about how boring Mike'd Up Francesa on the Fan is. But what can you do? There is no Sheriff Bart to come and rescue Mike. Apparently, he has successfully resisted all overtures for a co-host. Instead, we are consigned to a daily dose of retread opinions and long-standing biases spoken in an unenthusiastic delivery from a man who is clearly bored at the sound of his own voice.
Maybe I'm just having a bad day. Maybe Francesa will charm me back with ratings talk(where the hell has that been anyway?) or discussing the filly's chances this weekend. But for now, I'm just tired.

I'm also tired of Mike's interviews...stop asking and answering your own f'ing questions
It really amazes me how anybody still listens to Mike. Stop listening. Get sirius or listen to 1050. There is Solution.

A QUESTION FOR YOU? Is this station broadcast from the basement of the, "BADA BING" or what??. FATSO THE CONSTAPATED, BENINGNO THE SHYLOCK, RUN A POLL AT THE STATION TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH FAtso is loved.
FTLT - that is definitely one of my pet peeves. Listening to the interview with Manuel today - it was tough to sit through the whole thing
I was in the car listening to Mike's "interview"(monologue?)with Manuel. It got to the point of ridiculous when Manuel started giving one word answers---"right";"exactly";"Yeah"; etc.--like a witnes during cross-examination. The only trouble is that while the lawyer doesn't want the witness to explain and so controls the "interview" with leading questions, Mike's supposed to be feeding Jerry open ended questions that will allow him to open up and give us some insight into what HE'S thinking. Note to MF: we already hear enough of you. We want to hear the guest's take on things. What an a--hole!
Same diatribe, same callers, same thoughts and opinions on repeat mode...With you 100% GMan. Still, I/we tend to gravitate to what we know. Maybe it's so we can see if we can predict the next statement, maybe it's to see if he changes his tune.
To his credit, as I left work last night, right before the show's conclusion, he readily admitted that the NYY f*cked up the new stadium so badly it's almost not to be believed. This was clarified even more when I heard the NYY #1 employee go on and on and on about how there is no problem with the new Stadium since they led the league in attendance. He dismissed the fact that they've sold less a percentage of their seats than other teams as semantics.
For Rock and any other commenters that are 1050 loyalists I say this: Francesa is an arrogant blowhard who also seems like he'd have a sh*tty personality if you knew him personally. He's still better than:
1. Kay (the absolute worst)
2. Mike and Mike (Clemens spot was a joke, much like their entire show every day)
3. Tirico and Van Pelt (these two make Evan Roberts seem entertaining)
Anon - that's exactly what I was talking about. Sometimes Manuel would start to answer before Mike was finished with his "question" / statement. Then Mike would talk over him for a few seconds to get his point across, only to have Manuel seriously sit there in silence for a few seconds and finally, just to fill the awkward silence, say "yeah."
Throughout the show yesterday Mike did some spots for a charity event for Dr. Z.
I commend Mike for his involvement in this, but the prize he was pushing was sitting next to him at a Yankee game? I personally can find some humor in spending time with the "large one" and seeing how many hot dogs he could put away, but for most people I think that would be a horribly boring way to see a ballgame.
The same subject also brought up Mikes summer schedule-- do we have any idea yet as to how the FAN is going to handle his time slot when he takes his usual time off? Am I doomed to a summer of Yankeeography, Yankee classics, and Yankee magazine on YES?

Kbilly...i know you were just quoting the movie but had to delete...
First Time, Long Time
You are kidding? That was Mel Brooks. You are the one who brought it up dude.
That's the only scene in the movie worth quoting. I can't quote the beans/fart scene.
Dude, I know you want to keep it clean, but you bring up Blazing Saddles...and I can't quote the best scene in the whole movie?
kiblls..it was Gman that wrote the post not me and you can quote away but having that one word lingering in the comments section didn't sit quite right with the blog police.

KB...relax, put Dog on the radio, get on the line with him and all will be well in your world...
I'm taking my keyboard and going to across the interwebs where curses and swears on blogs are allowed.
This blog is lame.
I can't listen to Dog. I have the Mets game on at work. Only so much bandwith to go around.
this game is perfect for Mike. If the mets blow it, then he can ignore last night's gutty win, delay his daily lamenting the state of the yanks and instead focus on wright's bad defense and reyes' pitiful baserunning...
Is NYM pitching trying to get Escobar inducted to the HOF by Friday? Jeez Louise they sure are making him look vintage A-Rodesque.
How are you listening to the game over the internet?
Whatdoyouhave?
mlb.com.
haha the Mets lost
If I hear one person defend Castillo's sac bunt in the 12th I am tossing my radio out the car Lane Meyer style.
Francesa is speaking so quickly, as if he's getting paid by the word.
Again, he has to say that Church's 'brain was scrambled'.
missed mike after the game today...what was his take? did he instill panic in mets fans everywhere?
KBilly: You used to actually have a reason for your calls to Russo. Now it's like you're just calling to say hello or to get him to say ANYBODY ALIVE.
The weather is looking great?! Come on man! Get some real talk going with him! Tell him how horrible Francesa is! Those calls are always fun.
He's on right now. And he was not tough on the Mets. He says that Mets fans should be happy with 8 out of 10.
He is about to move onto a 'more ominous situation' The Yankees.

I do want to get a Anybody Alive out of Doggie.
But dude, I am going to SF like tomorrow. I'll be at 3 Mets/Giants games. He cut me off, WTF can I do about that?
I was all set to talk Pens/Caps hockey. I have a couple hundred on the Caps. But I got cut off.
When I listen to Dog's show, it's like all hockey all the time. Since when did Doggie care about pucks? We all know that he knows nothing about the sport.
Thanks KBilly - missed end but saw it on gamecast. Listening to Mike now on the Yanks. Missed what he said on the Mets. Him complaining about Yankees is sometimes tiresome when its continuous. This is when he gets so pissy and whiney he sounds like a 13 yr old girl who just got grounded or something
Even now talking about the Celtics - Magic game he's doing the whining. I can't stand it
KBilly: Thanks for the imdb/Blazing Saddles link...I was crying just reading it...need to watch it this weekend!
