On this day...

1994 – Following a police chase along Los Angeles freeways and a failed suicide attempt, actor and former American football player O.J. Simpson was arrested for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.

Raise your hand if you were watching the Knicks vs. Rockets in the NBA finals when they cut in to follow OJ down the freeway.

I was in Cape May NJ for the week Shark fishing and spent that night glued to the TV watching the chase and the news in the hotel room.

Wow-- Time has gone by.

Saw it on a tiny tv in a small restaurant I owned. Did anyone think, for one minute, that this was the way an innocent person behaved?

Truth doesn't matter in this country, cash does. ALWAYS HAS, ALWAYS WILL.

Mike you stupid bloated lazy POS. Cervelli is NOT a 190 hitter in the minors......you are so fucking lazy.
He hit 190 in a SMALL SAMPLE this year. While he's never gonna hit like posada, this idea this bloated whale has that he can't hit 200 is such an example of him sucking huevos.

He rags when people say Cervelli is a 300 hitter, saying its a small sample, but still calls him a 190 minor league hitter.

The pitchers HATE pitching to Posada, its been that way for a long while, but the blob tries to make it seem like a witchhunt by the Yankee pitchers.

I was only 9 at the time, but I probably was watching. I don't remember it cutting into the Knicks playoffs, but I did follow the Knicks back then.

So weird...I watched every game of that series and I loved that Knicks team but for some reason I associate the "chase" with the Rangers/Canucks series. I love the Knicks and hate hockey but that's my recollection.

Anyway, have to be a little fair to Mike today. He brought up Lange without bad-mouthing after Lange apparently eviscerated him yesterday. Plus, I don't hate Buck the way a lot of people do but I salute Mike for calling that situation like he sees it. Nice that there's no cross-promotional thing that he's protecting. Polar opposite to anyone on 1050.

I was living in Japan at that time so I was probably asleep. It wasn't as big a deal over there.

Well Sean, "the chase" ended in a championship for the Rangers in '94, and winning championships are usually remembered more fondly than failing to win a championship, aside from maybe the Yankees/D-Backs series in 2001. I'm a big Rangers fan myself and don't really follow basketball at all anymore.

I remember Costas cutting in and doing a picture-in-picture thing on NBC with the chase during (or maybe before or during halftime?) the game. It was ridiculous and almost surreal

I think the Rangers Cup anniversary was a week ago. The Knicks game was on June 17.

How can I post the prank Bababooey call to Peter Jennings and Al Michaels?

I got lucky and I'm going on Saturday. Would love to run into the Fat Man at the course. Come on Phil!
