BATTLE OF THE MIKES: Round 3

For those that missed this early in the program, Mike from Montclair went toe-to-toe with Mike Francesa yet again. Here was the call:

Awesome. Nice post! I think Mike from Montclair is a douche (actually, so is the other Mike) but it's always fun to hear Francesa being called out.

I wish I didn't have to but M from M has given me no choice but to defend the indefensible. I really hate doing this as it goes against everything I deem holy and good but M from M, "Shut the fuck up!". Yo, don't like the show, don't listen. First, he pulls the ol switcheroo on Francesa by not greeting him as he's graciously accepted on the show. Rude, at best. Then, he lambasts Mike for not interviewing someone who had already been interviewed. Look, I am sure Francesa has lots of clout but even he doesn't run every producer and book every guest. M from M apparently thinks Francesa also comes in early to brew coffee for Carton and then runs out for another carton for Somers. M from M, you probably have checked this blog all day and nite to see if anyone commented on your failures as a radio personality and your overall failures as a person. Well, here it is you miserable, entitled prick. Send me your address so I can contribute to your Sirius fund.

I love it when Fatso gets mad and yells. It just shows you he's feeling the pressure and his show is falling apart.

I hate that arrogant fucking blow hard.

Why does anybody listen?

The only news I get about his show is what I read on here. I haven't put the FAN on in ages.

Anybody know what the ratings are for his show?

Sean,

There is a theory that M from M reads this blog, so if he does, he got your message loud and clear. I agree with you on the double booking of Mike Pereirea. That's likely a station-wide decision.

I am surprised that Mike keeps him on the line for so long. He has no obligation to.

Yeah Gman,

M from M is the kinda guy that gets a gift certificate to a fancy, schmancy place, stuffs his face and then complains to the gift giver that the gc wasn't enough for dessert too. Also, sorry for the double comment. For some reason, I cannot log in under blogger/google to post here from my bberry.

awesomesean...I have no issues with most of what you wrote, but why is it rude for M from M to not greet Francesa when he gets on the line. There is nothing more annoying than people who "thank" Mike for taking his call. Why must callers feel they have to kiss Francesa's ass?

FTLT...You're probably right but I was in the car listening when the call originated and it immediately jumped out at me. A simple hello would've done wonders. The people that say, "Mike, I was at Saratoga in '02 and caught up to you at the snack bar. I asked you to sign my t-shirt but you just asked me to hold your Diet Coke while you put mustard on your 4 hot dogs before heading to back to your box...". Those people suck. People that have basic good manners do not.

It's refreshing to see Francesa backpedal once in awhile, but to think that Mike from Montclair did it takes away 99 percent of the pleasure.

It's a trap phone call that Francesa averted just fine.

MfM is a know-it-all nitpicker who spends a day preparing for his 3 minute segment on a 5 hour radio show. Enough.

I enjoy hearing Francesa yell over stupid crap, as childish as it may be, but not when it's to MFM. That guy is just as clueless, if not moreso. As awesomesean said, it's defending the indefensible. I find myself taking Francesa's side on that, typically. I don't like that feeling. It's a dirty feeling.
