YOU WANT ANSWERS?

So there have been a lot of comments recently about the inactivity of this blog. As Tom Cruise told the transvestite hooker in Risky Business, "Fair Enough." I don't have answers yet, but I will tell you that we hear you. We are looking into your suggestions.

But to answer Gene and Ryan T...Gene, we take your comment as a compliment and a challenge to write more. Ryan T, I quote you..."This site lucked out and got rolling right when the breakup was happening". Wrong. To quote Col. Jessup, "Check the tower logs." And the tower logs say that we started this thing a couple of months before there were even whispers about the breakup. The breakup definitely energized us and the denouement had the opposite effect. But the recent inactivity is more about real life intersecting with ambition. So lay off the polemics, please.

I'll quote another comment. This from one of the many anonymi...."Even on the day of Mike and the Marquis we can't get a post?" I found this slightly amusing as it was written one hour before our new president was inaugurated. I guess this is a testament to the impact of Mike and Chris.

We have enjoyed writing content for this site and the interaction with the people who read and contribute to it. Your contribution is definitely appreciated considering, you, the commenters, have kept this site alive for the last month or so. We'd like to keep it going but let's see where the day takes us. Thanks for all the support that you provide.

Let's keep this post as the current message board for now. We are keeping current by reading your updates.

Chris seemed annoyed that asshole Mike was still using the name "Marque".

I don't listen to WFAN anymore so I couldn't tell you what's going on on that boring show.

Russo has been great as of late. He flipped out on the Eagles since they crashed and burned and they were his superbowl pick. He took it personal. Classic Dogie.

Let's hope this blog gets update some more!

Almost half the week gone without any collaberative effort to post SB trivia answers.
What's the fucking point of this site if not to get one of us SB tix?

The hosts are alive out there!!! Hallelujah! I really think there needs to be an investigation on the segment between Mike and Kevin Burkhardt. Had him on last week for an extended segment and was both courteous and gracious. What. The. Hell. Asking him questions, interested in his start in the biz, etc. Very un-Mike-like.

KBilly I got some answers to Dog's more difficult ones:

Who broke the story that Parcells would leave the Patriots to coach the Jets - Will McDonagh

How many times did Pat Sumerall do the radio broadcast of the Superbowl - 10

First player to play in Superbowl for the same team in three different decades - Gene Upshaw

What future NFL head coach was a backup QB for the broncos in the Superbowl - Gary Kubiak

I won't be able to call in anymore this week but hopefully this helps somebody. I can't figure out Dog's audio questions....he said himself that they are almost impossible unless you recognize the voice.

Overall I think his questions have been a lot tougher than Mike's and he is not repeating the same questions as much as Mike which makes it even harder.

As one of the founders of this blog, I would like to say that Gman nailed it with this post. We started this blog because like so many others, we found ourselves often consumed - good and bad - by the daily musings of Mike Francesa and Chris Russo. We felt compelled to act and what other way than the blogosphere. Initially we faced resistance from some (mf.com), but we persevered through and are very proud of the outcome.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the journey. As Gman pointed out, the breakup did in fact energize us and Mike's solo act has certainly done the reverse.

However, life has gotten in the way at the moment and has kept us from posting more material. It's hard to say right now when things will revert back to the way they were. But in the meantime, if there are people serious about writing for this blog and keeping it alive, email us at: mikeandmadblog@gmail.com

First off I want to praise, FTLT, Gman and Lt Sam Weinberg for a good run. It's been a bummer that the posts have slowed, but I have sympathy because I literally can't stand Mike solo anymore and Dog on satellite is tough, even with Rock's password b/c I get bounced a lot.

I started reading and occasionally commenting on this blog after FTLT called in to a solo Dog in spring of 08. I found the posts both hilarious and good fodder for conversation about two guys we all learned to love and hate at times. So thanks for the blog!

I haven't been able to listen to Mike or Dog this week, but have heard from this blog and some friends that a) Mike is being absurdly pompous and b) Dog is taking it to a new level with the difficulty / obscurity of his questions. I will try and join the effort to post answers on the site. Like I wrote earlier, if Mike has been repeating a lot of their questions, I have a bunch of answers from last year on a file.

I always thought the stain on his microphone was petty disgusting, I thought it was from his diet coke spittle.

That stain on the microphone has been there for way to long. What the hell is it anyway? Has anyone noticed the duct tape on the counter? Is it still there?

Can we change the "Countdown to Days Left Until We Can Take the Rays Seriously?" to "Count of how many days Mike is without a jingle?" or "Countdown to picthers and catchers report"? Something...anything....

Mike was debating with a Jets fan if the Jets picks were worthwhile (ie Gholston and Ferguson) and said I don't know if the Jets could have drafted Cutler (they easily could've) but Mike contested they did not want to take a quarterback. This led to Mike saying your first round pick will average out to your second/third round picks and that hindsight anyone can analyze the draft. Please give us some updates.

Just an FYI:

Is anyone here a Springsteen fan? There is a website called Backstreets.com with a section to post about anything and today someone posted about how bad Mike is without Chris.

A few posts down someone mentioned this blog and said Mike is so bad that this blog no longer updates.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

To the owners of this blog.

I think the breakup HURT the point of this blog really. Those who said it helped look at it differently than I do.

As an admitted HATER, HATER, HATER of Mike and Russo, I appreciate the opportunity of get off my chest the utter distain and disrespect I have for both of them.....BUT together, they were better than they BOTH are seperately. I mean more entertaining, SOMETIMES, maybe LESS than sometimes. And I said ENTERTAINING, not knowledgeable, not professional, not respectful, CERTAINLY not funny, witty or humorous. They're like a bad car wreck, you look.

But, to the founders again, I know that sometimes real life gets in the way. The fact that you posted as much as you have sometimes amazes me. Face it, blogging for a living allows you the time to keep up. With jobs, kids, chores, engagements, relatives, etc. It gets hectic. I understand completely. Maybe some of the great posters here could help out?

Well, thanks again.

Thanks, gaba. You were our first regular reader. Let's say that worklife wasn't getting in the way, I would be bouncing back and forth between Mike and Chris, blogging about both. Mike is not great these days but it doesn't change his intrasigence that he is always right. And that in itself is entertaining. Chris has impressed me recently with the amount of guests he gets, and more importantly, how good he is with them. Mike will never be 'great' with guests. Unless it's an old Yankee, he merely sees them as sounding boards for his ego.

classic moment on today's show. When discussing Joe Montana with a caller, Mike resorted to "well, one of us actually knows MOntana...ME!" The caller responded with a sarcastic "ooooh, the master speaks..." or something along those lines...

also i wish Jets fans would stop taking things out of proportion with this Woody thing. He's an old man, he misspoke, he spent hundreds of millions on free agents, there are tons of franchises in worse shape than you. Stop crying.

Talk about BORING, these remotes, escpecially week long and not involving home teams are BORING. I am convinced they are nothing more than vacations for their hosts.

I heard a little of Mike's interview with Verducci. Got nothing out of him although he seemed to ask a lot of the right questions. Where is Mike coming down on the Torre book thing? I am not a NYY fan so I am a little biased here but I do think this whole thing makes Torre look a little "low rent". What did Big Mike say?
