HAL WHO?

I'll admit it. I had no idea who Hal Steinbrenner was when Mike Francesa brought him on his show today. I had to look him up. I thought Hank was the man. But apparently he has a brother. And that brother owns the Yankees.

Anywho, I don't have much to say because I found it to be an incredibly boring interview. Francesa wasn't kowtowing to or challenging him. He sounded very matter of fact. Like he talks with him every day. I also noticed that there were a lot of deep breaths from Mike. Like he had just hustled into the chair or maybe he is on the brink of death. Either way, he sounded large. You know how Tony Soprano would breath through his nose? Like that, sort of.

You know Mike did have Verducci on first thing yesterday right?

yes Loki. But I was not listening. I was listening today.

Classic Mike at 2:40pm. To former Redskin QB Doug Williams talking about his Super Bowl, "you guys just ran max protect, right?" I love Mike playing analyst for a game 20 years ago.

Mike was crowing about a special, mystery guest yesterday. I had a feeling it'd be someone from the NYY fam.

Loki, I thought the Verducci interview was puff because Verducci protected Torre who is the only relevant piece of the whole story. He's def been knocked down a rung in my book and I am excited for his media tour so he can attempt to dodge discipline while denying he did anything "for the money". As the Misfits would say, "Ratfink"

Please replace "discipline" with "criticism".

Mike talked about the Torre/Verduci book in his opening, he read it last night & this morning. He did a great job. Give it to him, to his credit. Very comprehensive and complete, the best I've heard or read.
