What We Have Learned Today

We have learned that after Mike ripped David Wright on Friday and called him immature on the air, he privately met with the Mets third basemen off the air for 45 minutes after the show. We have learned that both men cleared the air. We have learned that Mike is not good at issuing pseudo apologies. We have learned that Mike is speaking rather tepidly about the conversation between he and Wright, suggesting that maybe deep down Francesa might not be 100% pleased. We have learned that Mike thinks the WBC is a gimmick. We have learned he believes baseball is trying to make it into the Ryder Cup. We have learned Mike is not buying into it. We have learned Mike will however watch Puerto Rico because he wants to see Bernie swing the bat a few times. We have learned that Posada’s health is a big factor for the Yanks this spring training. We have learned that it snows more in Astoria then anywhere else in the NY area and that the streets in Queens are never plowed. We have learned that despite having dinner with Omar in Florida and talking to Jeff Wilpon, neither man filled Mikey in on the fact that Johan might be Jo-Gone. We have learned that when a caller takes Mike to task on something he said (like say comparing the WBC being a gimmick to the AL’s institution of the DH also being a gimmick), that the big man will have no part of it. We have learned he will quickly flash a handwave, taking the caller’s voice away and then denounce such person a “moron.” Actually, we didn’t really learn that today. We always knew that one. We have learned that Mike is the Commissioner of PSL's. We have learned that Mr. T will be on in the 3 o'clock hour. What we have not learned yet, as of 2:00PM is why Mike’d Up went to Port St. Lucie last week if they couldn’t get a single player to sit face-to-face with Francesa?

I stopped listening/watching right after Mike called that guy who was discussing the DH a "fool".

Too much to take...

When is Mike gonna realize that no one else calls him Mr. T and its a horrible nickname and we don't like him awkwardly calling a 32 yr old GM "Mr T" when he clearly feels superior to him and won't ever really take him seriously

While I usually don't like the awkward tension b/n MF and Mike from Montclair, kudos to M from M for chastising MF on his "feud" with David Wright and more impoirtantly how he treated it like a major story, both addressing it on his tv show last night and the show today

Whatdoyouhave...If there is anyone to challenge Francesa in arrogance and ignorance, it's M from M. I didn't hear it today but I am sure he was his typical entitled self. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "M from M! Shut the HECK up! It's NOT your show!"

The End.

Like I've said before,

I refuse to listen to Mike but I love all the shit you guys talk about him. It's good comedy and I'm glad to see Mike is still a pompous jackass who nobody likes. I only wish the ratings would reflect that.

Like Loki, I stopped listening when Mike gave a hand wave and called the guy a fool. Switched over to Michael Kay and discovered that Michael Kay has the same opinions about the WBC as Francesa. Difference is, Michael Kay has a bit more class and allows the callers to complete a thought. I might make the switch permanent. By the way the commenters on this blog should have their own show. You guys are hilarious!

Haha, yep Awesome Sean. M from M is absurd. At least MF has this show and a 20+ yr radio career under his belt. M from M has done nothing - basically only caller who treats MF like MF treats most callers. Doesn't even say hello - just goes into his oh-so-important points

How can you listen to Kay live over internet? I feel like a moron - can't figure it out on the site. All I see is Podcast downloads

Kay has a decent show.

Nothing great but def better than the fat arrogant ass.

Kay has a slight edge because of two reasons: 1. Excellent co host. Michael Kay's co host Don Le Greca could have his own show. Don also has a talent to voice both sides of a given arguement. 2. Comic relief. The banter between Kay and his crew is a better listen than Mike Francesa bashing his crew yet again. Could be really funny at times. Close race goes to Kay. IMHO.

i wish joe and evan had this 1-6 time slot. theyve been thoroughly entertaining all day.

theyre even ripping on mike's mik'd up theme song "like a guy training to beat somebody up in the 80s." they describe it as. lol

Thanks Rock... Yeah Jason I def like Joe and Evan. Unfortunately a lot of people don't like Evan b/c he's too young. They'll never have that time slot though because it now demands a "big name"

i think theyre just haters. i like the youth and enthusiasm that evan brings. and hes very fair to the teams he likes and dislikes. hes not a shill like fatcessa. and he balances out joe's maniacal rants. almost like how russo muted fatso with his personality. maybe muted isnt the right word.

I've had XM for a couple years now so I can listen to Dog. He's still not as knowledgeable as fatcessa but he is so much more fun. He continues to laugh that moronic laugh of his but at least you can listen to him and not hate yourself for tuning in and having to ask yourself why you never learned to forget about arrogance and rudeness of his former partner. Dog's conversation with Calipari about Memphis, that conference and the NCAA tournament this week was really entertaining.

Mike without Dog is just out of control. He needs someone to reign him in. He dont handle callers well. I think the show stinks since the split. He needs a partner. Someone who will actually talk about something other than the Yanks! Mike is sickening the way he talks about the Yanks! Hey Mike, WFAN is home to the Mets! Can you cover them?
